He will be a good singer.”

The Story of Sea of Blue

6'1", 190 lbs., Very Good Looking! And a snappy dresser!

I am a Singer/Songwriter now in the process of releasing the album “Sea Of Blue”, a 13 song retrospective of my life’s work. It’s mostly Rock n’ Roll with elements of Americana, Blues, and Folk. Except for “Bullet For Baby n’ Blue” it was recorded either  in my home studio in Nashville, at Darth Fader Studio in Richmond, VA., or the The Bomb Shelter in Nashville.

Many musicians are featured including myself on vocals, guitars, mandolin, keyboards, harmonica, and percussion, Clif Franck on drums , Rob Robinson on bass, Jimmy Catlett on guitars and banjo, Rich Bronson on acoustic guitar, Red Redling on keyboards, Rus Vergara on dobro, Kim Deschamps on steel guitar, and Jordan Stephens on acoustic guitar.

“Bullet”, a song of revenge that Mathew Costello wanted to record many years ago was really the first song recorded for the project and it was completed around the year 2000 in Mathew’s home studio, just south of the James River in Richmond.

Years later I hooked up with my old friend Clif, who thankfully planted the seed in my head about recording some more of my originals. He found Darth Fader and Grant in Richmond and this big ball started rolling.

Grant Rutledge captured and mixed most of the music on the project and he also played some organ and bass on “2nd. Avenue.” He stuck it out with me, through all my changes of preference and for that I am forever grateful.

What started out as a 5 song EP, morphed into a full blown LP, when we added Clif’s drums on some old demos I had recorded while residing in Nashville, 10 years earlier. We threw in some more Jimmy Catlett for good measure and we had a total of ten songs towards the project, eleven counting "Bullet" .

Finally, this past year I added 2 more songs at The Bomb Shelter in East Nashville, with the excellent and capable Drew Carroll manning the boards. Musicians there included Dillon Napier on drums, Kris Karlsson on bass and keys, and Sean Thompson on guitar, and me on vocals and guitars.

So here we are!

I feel like there is some pretty good stuff on this record. I love all the songs so I hope some others will do the same.

I guess these songs hung out in my head, my garage room, and all my other rooms for that matter juking and jiving and surviving just to see the light of day. I hope a few of them might make a show of it. I am not perfect or even close, but my songs are real, and full of heart and soul and dreams of an old school rocker.

Following are Fan Reviews for the song "2nd. Avenue."”
The guitar at the beginning of this song sets up the harmony and shortly after, the male vocalist comes in with the melody, one that we can easily hum when it inevitably gets stuck in our heads. It is very evident that this singer has a good voice but he is not cocky about it.”
The vocals are beautiful and the lyrics are an absolute gem. They are lovely and classic. It reminds you of a old school love tune. I love the overall vibe of the song, it is very nice.”

Not really my style of music but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this song. The production of the song was well done. The vocals sounded wonderful. The lyrics were also very well written. I couldn't find a bad thing to say about this song. Very good job.”
This sounds like a good old country song, going on a cruise alongside the beach & listening to songs like these. this song is amazing makes me wanna move around, gives me motivation and definitely makes me reminisce. i would definitely recommend this song to family and friends.”
The great thing about country songs is that they always tell a story, from beginning to end. This song is no exception. It tells a story about different people and their lives on 2nd avenue. I think it's a very interesting song for country music lovers everywhere.”
